There’s still room for one or two more participants in our immersive heritage project – if you’re interested please drop me an email/social media reply.
The event will take place on Saturday 1st December at Nottingham Contemporary. We start at 10am with a finish time of around 3pm. We start the morning with an historical tour of the Lace Market area (about 1 hr in length) before getting down to thinking about our own personal/creative responses to the area.
A good meeting with Mission Room on Tuesday. They’ll be capturing immersive images of the entire Lace Market area ready for the VR Sprint on the 1st December. We’re also sourcing historical photographs of the Lace Market that will then be layered onto the immersive template.
Good meeting with MissionRoom to discuss the VR template for the project. We’re looking for photos, film and objects from the Lace Market that we can integrate into the experience. For images and film we’ll need to know their exact location within the Lace Market so that they can be accurately positioned in the VR template.
Lace/2/Place – Crowdsourcing the cultural heritage of Nottingham.
‘Lace is beginning to speak to us again, after sleeping for hundreds of years’

Great news – Lace/2/Place has been awarded funding. The project explores immersive, community-led, heritage storytelling as a form of placemaking in the heart of Nottingham. Watch this place for further developments over the coming weeks.
